The world’s first “heavy” mice have already begun to pull their weight. The rodents, which are fed on a diet containing heavier forms of some chemical elements, were dreamed up to allow researchers to grow tissue in the lab that is less likely to be rejected by the body.
The mice have also helped to identify a molecule that might explain why soft tissues can sometimes turn to bone. Read more on newscientist.com…
